What it will not do
- It does not search your files. It answers over the claims and slots already extracted for you. A question box over a whole document estate is the product Orchid exists instead of, and it appears on no slide, no price card and in no refusal.
- It does not hold a conversation. One question, one answer. There is no thread, no memory of the last question and no follow-up turn — ask something related and you have asked a second question.
- It does not choose between disagreeing sources. Where a conflict slot is open it shows both values and says who said each.
- It does not answer from nothing. If what you asked is not held, it says so rather than searching until it finds something that reads like an answer.
The ceiling
One question per seat per working day, degrading to overnight-queued above it. It is a ceiling and not a meter, and the allowance is named on the price card — an unpriced, unbounded surface either gets a bound or it becomes a line item nobody costed.
